Michael Taormina is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the performing arts industry. Michael began their career in 1974 as a Manager at the New Orleans Cultural Center, where they worked for over ten years. Michael then moved on to become the Manager at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh, PA, where they worked for over a decade. In 1998, Taormina transitioned to the role of Director of Business Development at ETM Entertainment Network. After two years, they joined the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts as the General Manager/COO. Taormina's most recent role was as the Managing Director of Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, where they began in 2006. Throughout their career, Taormina has consistently demonstrated their expertise and leadership in the performing arts industry.
Michael Taormina, CFE pursued their bachelor's degree in Speech and Dramatic Art from Southeastern Louisiana University from 1966 to 1970. After completing their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they pursued graduate studies in Dramatic Art from 1970 to 1972.
Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre
The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, a $145 million, state-of-the-art facility, is located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway in northwest Atlanta, inside the Perimeter. Cobb Energy Centre is a premier venue for opera, concerts, Broadway shows, ballet, educational shows, family shows and corporate meetings and events. The Centre hosts two resident companies, the Atlanta Ballet and The Atlanta Opera. The facility includes the 2,750-seat John A. Williams Theatre, 10,000-square-foot Kessel D. Stelling Ballroom and other meeting spaces, 1,000 parking spaces including a 700-space parking deck, and full-service food and beverage capabilities. The Centre, part of the Cobb-Galleria complex, is governed by the Cobb-Marietta Coliseum and Exhibit Hall Authority.
