Fernando Freitas Alves

Fernando Freitas Alves has extensive work experience in engineering management, technology leadership, and software development. Fernando is currently working at Cobli as a Senior Engineering Manager, where they have been since December 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Engineering Manager at Cobli from July 2019 to December 2020.

Before joining Cobli, Fernando worked at TIKAL TECH, starting in March 2015. During their time at TIKAL TECH, they held various roles, including Partner from July 2019 to January 2022 and Chief Technology Officer from March 2015 to June 2019. As a Chief Technology Officer, they managed agile teams and led the development of multiple Legaltech and Lawtech products. Fernando was responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the backend systems for these products, as well as handling tasks such as interviewing and hiring team members, implementing Scrum methodology, and pitching new clients.

Prior to TIKAL TECH, Fernando co-founded Doingcast in October 2013, where they worked as a Co-Founder and Senior Software Engineer. Fernando was responsible for developing the desktop app, managing client and investor relationships, and pitching to investors. Fernando left Doingcast in November 2014.

Fernando's work experience also includes roles as a Senior Software Engineer at Ideias na Mesa | Teen Spirit from December 2010 to October 2014, where they founded a startup and provided website development and automation services. Fernando also served as the Chief Technology Officer at B2Blue.com - Valorizando seu resíduo from December 2012 to September 2013, where they developed the backend of an online marketplace using Python and Django.

Additionally, Fernando owned and operated Apoio Musical, a musical instruments e-commerce, from December 2010 to December 2012. Fernando started this business while working and studying at Universidade de São Paulo, where they also worked as a Developer from March 2009 to November 2010.

Earlier in their career, Fernando gained experience as a Technical Support Analyst at Analytical Solutions from October 2004 to June 2005, and as a Data Analyst Intern at Escopo Geomarketing from May 2003 to October 2004.

Fernando Freitas Alves has a diverse education history. Fernando completed their Computer Engineering degree at USP - Universidade de São Paulo from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from USP - Universidade de São Paulo from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, Fernando obtained a Programming and Systems Development Technician certificate from the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de São Paulo - IFSP from 2001 to 2002.

Fernando has also pursued certifications in technology-related areas, including How to be a Hero CIO | CTO from Udemy in June 2020 and Functional Programming in Python from Real Python in March 2020. Fernando has further expanded their skill set with certifications such as React.js Essential Training and Developing Executive Presence from LinkedIn in July 2019, and Learning Ansible and Learning Docker from LinkedIn in September 2018.

Moreover, Fernando acquired additional certifications such as Having Difficult Conversations and Mentoring Others from LinkedIn in October 2018 and December 2017, respectively. Fernando also completed Scrum: Advanced, Scrum: The Basics, and Managing New Managers certifications from LinkedIn in September 2018.
