Jonathan Riise

Jonathan Riise has a diverse work experience in various fields. Jonathan is currently working at COBOD International as the Head of Research and Development since September 2021. Before that, they worked as a Robotics Engineer at COBOD International from February 2021 to September 2021.

Prior to joining COBOD International, Jonathan worked at TWI as a Project Leader from October 2018 to November 2020. In this role, they were involved in automated materials testing, with a focus on advanced robotic testing of composite materials using industrial robots and ultrasound. Jonathan also managed projects, wrote and submitted proposals, built client relationships, integrated sensors, developed software, analyzed data, and wrote reports. Jonathan also had responsibilities in budgeting and supervision of students and technicians.

Jonathan's work experience includes a role as a Doctor of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde from October 2014 to January 2020. During this time, they conducted research on metrology solutions for automated non-destructive testing applications, specifically focusing on using industrial robots for non-destructive testing of aerospace composite parts.

Jonathan also worked as a Freelance Web Developer/Designer from September 2013 to August 2014, where they developed and designed websites for various clients. Additionally, they gained experience in marketing and sales during this time.

In 2012, Jonathan worked as a Physics Tutor at Edinburgh Science Tutors, where they privately tutored mathematics and physics to multiple pupils. This experience improved their communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts.

Furthermore, Jonathan gained research experience as a Student Researcher at the University of Edinburgh in 2013 and 2012. Jonathan conducted research on the effectiveness of innovative teaching methods and peer-to-peer learning platforms.

Before their academic and research roles, Jonathan worked as a Surveying Assistant at COWI from May 2007 to August 2008. Jonathan'sresponsibilities included surveying tasks for projects involving the national rail network, building sites, road construction, and harbors. Jonathan also provided assistance with clerical tasks in the office.

Jonathan Riise attended Kolding Amtsgymnasium og HF from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained an International Baccalaureate degree with a focus on Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English. Jonathan then went on to pursue a Master of Physics degree at The University of Edinburgh from 2008 to 2013. Jonathan's academic journey continued as they enrolled at the University of Strathclyde from 2014 to 2018, where they completed an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE). In addition to their formal education, Jonathan obtained two additional certifications: Dimensional Measurement from the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in July 2017, and Introduction to Measurement Uncertainty from NPL in June 2017.
