Gideon Raath

Gideon Raath is an accomplished professional in project development and environmental consulting, currently serving as the Head of Development for Africa at Grupo Cobra since August 2024, focusing on energy portfolio expansion across the continent. Previously, Gideon held leadership roles at ENERTRAG South Africa from August 2021 to July 2024, where responsibilities included overseeing a development team and managing the progression of renewable energy projects. Gideon’s earlier experience includes being a Senior Environmental Consultant at Savannah Environmental, where over 110 projects were assisted through environmental due diligence and compliance. Educational qualifications comprise a Master's Degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from Stellenbosch University, a Bachelor's Degree in BSc (Hons) Ecology, Conservation and Environment from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Johannesburg.
