Carmen Gómez-Acebo

Carmen G. has extensive experience in policy development and project management, currently serving as a Senior Policy and Project Officer in International Protection at Settlement Services International since March 2017. In parallel, Carmen G. has been a Sessional Tutor for Community Work in the Bachelor of Social Work program at UNSW since September 2019. Previous roles include contributions as a Child Protection Consultant at Relief International, a Team Leader and Case Coordinator at Australian Red Cross managing case workers for asylum seekers, and a Programme Officer at UN Women focusing on gender issues in the National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan. Educational qualifications include a Masters of Applied Anthropology and Participatory Development from The Australian National University and a degree in Social Work and Development Studies from UNSW.
