Stefan Batres

Stefan Batres has over 25 years of experience in software engineering and leadership roles.

Stefan recently worked as the Director of Engineering at Codified, starting in 2023.

Prior to that, Stefan was a Principal Software Engineer at SendOwl, where they focused on various tasks such as migrating to AWS, improving sales tax handling, and automating CI/CD processes. Stefan worked at SendOwl from December 2022 to August 2023.

From 2021 to 2022, Stefan served as a Principal Software Engineer at Aserto, where they designed and delivered the control plane for their cloud-native authorization service.

Before that, Stefan was involved in roles at Tableau Software, including Director of Engineering for the Data Services team, Development Manager for Data Server & Tableau Bridge, and Senior Software Design Engineer for foundational components and the porting of Tableau to MacOS.

Stefan began their career at Microsoft in 1996, where they worked as a Software Design Engineer and Lead Software Design Engineer on Chakra, the JavaScript compiler for Edge and IE browsers.

Stefan also briefly worked at vJungle, a dot-com era startup, as a Software Design Engineer and Lead Software Design Engineer, leading a team that created a web-based accounting application.

Stefan Batres completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Tecnológico de Monterrey from 1991 to 1996. Stefan also received a Certificate in Machine Learning from the University of Washington from 2017 to 2018.
