Jiayi Li

Jiayi Li is an Environmental Engineering professional currently serving as a Stormwater Engineer In Training at Coe & Van Loo Consultants Inc. since September 2023. Previously, Jiayi worked at the University of Virginia as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, where significant contributions included developing nitrogen removal models in bioretention systems using Python and enhancing prediction accuracy for nitrogen removal. Additional research experience involved producing numerous flood hazard maps and developing methodologies for hazard mapping. Jiayi's earlier internships included marketing and environmental projects at AkzoNobel and the Shanghai Academy of Environmental Sciences, contributing to groundwater remediation efforts. Jiayi holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering Technology from the University of Virginia, complemented by Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Environmental Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology.
