Deon de Villiers

Deon de Villiers has over 20 years of experience as an internal audit professional, mostly with international publicly traded resource companies (Barrick, Goldfields and Anglo American). Most recently, he led Barrick’s Internal Audit function for North and South America. Prior to that role, Mr. de Villiers established and led the Internal Audit and Risk Assurance function for African Barrick Gold in Johannesburg, which was a newly formed subsidiary that listed on the London Stock Exchange. Mr. de Villiers brings deep experience in both Sox/internal control audits and risk management. Mr. de Villiers is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Chartered Accountant. Mr. de Villiers holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the North West University in South Africa, an advanced accounting degree from the University of South Africa and a post graduate diploma in management from the University of Cape Town.
