Cal Halvorsen

Cal Halvorsen is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor of Social Work at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis since July 2024 and as a Research Affiliate at the Karolinska Institutet. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Research Fellow at CoGenerate and an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Boston College from July 2018 to June 2024. Halvorsen's earlier positions at CoGenerate included Director of Research and Evaluation, Project and Research Manager, and Program Associate, as well as serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at Brown School. Halvorsen holds a PhD in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, where a Master of Social Work was also earned, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Iowa. A summer semester study abroad program at TU Dortmund University was also completed.
