Joe Meyer has an extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Joe started their career at Sprint, where they held various roles including Vice President Network Service Assurance, Vice President Customer Service Support Operations, Vice President Consumer Customer Service, Vice President Customer Service – Business Markets, Vice President Product Development and Service Operations – Mass Market, and Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development. During their time at Sprint, they focused on improving customer service, satisfaction, and the company's competitive position. Joe also played a significant role in the successful merger with T-Mobile. Following the merger, Joe joined T-Mobile as the Vice President Network Operations – Wireline, Broadband, and Customer Operations, where they directed a global team of engineering and technical experts. Joe is currently the Chief Customer Care & Network Reliability Officer at Cogent Communications.

Joe Meyer attended Creighton University from 1985 to 1989, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on Accounting and Finance. Joe also obtained a Certificate in Strategic Business Leadership from Georgetown University. In 1993 to 1994, they briefly attended UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
