Stefanos Zafeiriou

Stefanos Zafeiriou has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of machine learning, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. Stefanos is currently serving as a Co-Founder and Senior Advisor at Safe Intelligence and CONTEX.AI, both of which they founded in 2022 and 2021 respectively. Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, Zafeiriou held the position of Professor in Machine Learning and Computer Vision at Imperial College London since 2008. Stefanos has also served as a Reader and Senior Lecturer in the same field at Imperial College London. In addition, Zafeiriou co-founded and held the position of Chief Scientist at Emphatiq and Ariel AI, and was a Co-Founder and CTO at Facesoft. Stefanos has been involved in various research, teaching, and advisory roles throughout their career, including a Distinguished Research Fellow position at the University of Oulu and a Visitor role at the University of Houston. Zafeiriou holds a PhD in Computer Vision and Statistical Machine Learning from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Stefanos Zafeiriou pursued their education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). From 1999 to 2003, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Informatics. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution and obtained their PhD in Computer Vision and Statistical Machine Learning from 2003 to 2007.
