Y. Ming Tsang

Senior Director of AI at Cogniac

Y. Ming Tsang has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2004. Y. Ming started as a Member of Professional Staff at ASTRI, then moved to Qualcomm as an Engineering Intern in 2007. In 2009, they became a Corp R&D Engineering Intern at Qualcomm and developed NS2 simulation platform for 802.11ac standard, as well as a beamforming training algorithm for 60 GHz standard (802.11ad). From 2008-2011, they held the roles of Chapter Representatives at Wokai and Senior Software Engineer at Ruckus Wireless. In 2013, they returned to Ruckus Wireless as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the algorithmic design and software implementation efforts for Ruckus customized rate control. In 2016, they joined Cogniac Corporation as Director of AI, where they led the AI infrastructure and deep learning model development. Y. Ming also developed multiple core visual tasks for Cogniac system, optimized darknet framework for inference in C and Cython, and designed and architected end-to-end solutions for some high-value clients.

Y. Ming Tsang holds a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Computer Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
