Fabio MacCiardi

Fabio Macciardi is currently the Chief Scientific Officer at Cognigenics and holds the position of Professor of Molecular Psychiatry (emeritus) at the University of California, Irvine, where a laboratory has been headed since 2009. Macciardi specializes in the analysis of gene function and evolution related to neurocognitive traits, employing advanced DNA, RNA sequencing, and brain imaging techniques. Additional roles include serving as a Neurogenetics Scientific Advisor for Vivera Pharmaceuticals, a consultant for Pharnext, and a past consultant for TEVA Pharmaceutical Industries. Previous academic positions include Associate Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Milan and senior scientist roles at CAMH and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Education includes a medical degree from the Università degli Studi di Milano, a PhD in psychiatric genetics from Università di Catania, and post-doctoral studies in human genetics at Yale School of Medicine.
