Knut Johannessen Vidvei

Knut Johannessen Vidvei has over 12 years of work experience in the tech and oil and gas industry. Knut Johannessen is currently a Senior Director - Product Management Lead at Cognite, a position they started in August 2020. Prior to this, Knut worked at TechnipFMC, where they held various roles in digital transformation and innovation. From April 2019 to August 2020, they were the Director of Innovation and Development - Digital Transformation - IDS at TechnipFMC, leading the digital innovation and software development functions. From January 2018 to August 2020, they served as the Director of Digital Services & Innovation Center. Before joining TechnipFMC, Knut worked at FMC Technologies, where they had a range of roles in engineering and analysis. Knut Johannessen was the Engineering Team Lead from May 2015 to July 2016, responsible for delivering engineering support to offshore operations. Prior to this, they were a Senior Analyst Engineer, specializing in structural analysis, and a Structural Analyst Engineer. Knut also had an internship in software development during their early career. Overall, their experience spans from product management and digital transformation to engineering and analysis in the oil and gas sector.

Knut Johannessen Vidvei began their education in 2003 at Befalsskolen for Sjøforsvaret (BSS), where they studied Naval Navigation and Leadership for a year. In 2004, they enrolled at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and pursued a Master of Science degree in Naval Engineering and Structural Engineering, which they completed in 2010. In the same year, Vidvei also participated in an exchange program for their Master's degree at Università degli Studi di Genova, focusing on Naval Structures, Hydrodynamics, and Construction of ships.

Later on, in 2014, they attended a course in System Architecture and Design at the University of South-Eastern Norway, further expanding their knowledge in System Engineering. In 2018, Vidvei completed Driving Strategic Innovation program at MIT Sloan Executive Education.
