Sally Carter, PMP has a diverse work experience in the medical device industry. Sally started their career at Lockheed Martin as an intern before moving on to work at GE Plastics as an intern, where they gained experience in auditing and hazardous materials classification. Sally then worked as a summer intern at Blackstone Medical, where they assisted with the development of various surgical tools and products.
Sally's career in medical product development began at Smith & Nephew Endoscopy, where they worked as a development engineer. Sally then joined Innovative Spinal Technologies as a development engineer, responsible for the design, testing, and research of spinal implants.
In 2007, Sally joined Covidien (formerly Tyco Healthcare/US Surgical) as a senior development engineer, leading projects for the development of medical devices, conducting research, and testing new surgical procedures. Sally contributed significantly to the development of a Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery device and was involved in sports surgery initiatives.
Sally then joined Maquet Getinge Group, where they held the role of a senior product development engineer, leading projects for the development of new endovascular devices and managing a small team. Sally later transitioned to the role of a program manager, leading projects for remediation and facility moves.
Sally's next role was at Velcro Companies, where they initially worked as a program manager, managing portfolios and scheduling for the Medical group. Sally later became the manager of medical product development, focusing on improving systems and increasing team knowledge.
Currently, Sally is working at Cognition Corporation as the Director of Application Engineering and Quality. Sally'sresponsibilities include building a team focused on customer success, creating content related to medical devices, and improving the quality management system. Sally also supports audits of the Quality Management System as the Quality Officer.
Throughout their career, Sally has consistently demonstrated their expertise and leadership skills in the medical device industry, particularly in project management, product development, quality management, and customer success.
Sally Carter, PMP, received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1998. Sally then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, which they completed in 2001.
In terms of additional certifications, Sally obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2012. Sally also completed several courses through the American Management Association, including a Certificate of Completion in Effective Technical Writing in February 2012, a Certificate of Completion in Creativity & Innovation Seminar in June 2010, and a Certificate of Completion in Strategies for Developing Effective Presentation, also obtained in June 2010.
