Colleen Kraft has an extensive and varied work experience. Colleen began their career in 2009 as a Pediatrician at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia, where they provided preventive, developmental, acute and chronic care management to children ages 0-21. In 2014, they moved to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where they served as the Medical Director of the Health Network, a population health initiative. In 2017, they were appointed President-Elect of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and in 2018 they became President of the organization, a role they held until 2019. Currently, they are a Senior Medical Director for Clinical Adoption at Cognoa.
Colleen Kraft began their educational journey in 1977 when they earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Virginia Tech. Colleen then continued their studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1986. After completing their medical degree, they completed a Pediatric Residency in the Pediatrics Residency Program at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1989.
