Amit Sheth

Amit Sheth has extensive work experience in the field of artificial intelligence and computer science. In 2019, they became the Founding Director of the Artificial Intelligence Institute at the University of South Carolina. Amit also holds the NCR Chair and Professor position in Computer Science & Engineering at the same university since June 2019. In addition, they serve as a Fellow at the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and the AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science). Amit is recognized as a Fellow by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) for their contributions to information integration and workflow management. Amit Sheth has also been involved in several advisory and board member roles, including being an Advisory Board Member for SoPact - Impact Measurement Done Right and an Advisor for Edamam LLC. Furthermore, they co-founded Cognovi Labs and served as a Founder and Member of the Board, leveraging social data and domain knowledge for real-time actions. Amit was also a co-founder and Chief Advisor for ezDI, LLC until September 2021.

Amit Sheth received their SSC degree from A.G. High School in the years 1968 to 1975. Amit then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani from 1976 to 1981. Continuing their education at The Ohio State University, they obtained a Master of Science in Computer & Information Science between 1981 and 1983. Lastly, they completed their academic journey at The Ohio State University with a PhD in Computer & Information Science from 1983 to 1985.
