Todd Sears Caia

Todd Sears, CFA CAIA has a diverse and extensive work experience. Todd is currently serving as the Vice President of Development at Cohen-Esrey since April 2023. Prior to this role, they were the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Valeo Financial Advisors from February 2022 to April 2023. Todd also held the position of EVP - Research, Policy, & Strategy at Kittle Property Group, Inc. for over 16 years, from May 2005 to February 2022.

Before joining Kittle Property Group, Inc., Todd had notable roles such as Executive Vice President at Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership from December 2000 to April 2005, and Executive Secretary at the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners from July 1999 to December 2000. Todd also served as Deputy Director at the Indiana Housing Finance Authority from September 1995 to July 1999.

Todd began their career as a Commercial Real Estate Analyst at First Chicago in July 1990 and later worked as a Real Estate Appraiser - Senior Staff at Arthur Andersen from April 1992 to September 1995.

Furthermore, they have contributed to academia as an Adjunct Instructor at Butler University - Lacy School of Business since August 2017. Todd has also been involved in public service as a Public Interest Independent Director/Board Member at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBI) from January 2021 onwards.

Todd Sears, CFA CAIA completed their Bachelor of Science in Finance at Indiana University Bloomington from 1986 to 1990. Todd then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Economics at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis from 1996 to 2002. Todd also holds several additional certifications. In 2008, they became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder through the CFA Institute. Todd obtained the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation from the CAIA Association in November 2020. Additionally, Todd obtained certifications in various fields such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Certification from Illumeo in May 2020, Introduction to Agent-Based Modeling from the Sante Fe Institute in September 2019, Procore Certified: Project Manager (Project Management) from Procore Technologies in January 2019, Housing Credit Certified Professional in November 2018. Todd also completed the Survey Data Collection and Analytics Specialization from Coursera in August 2017, Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance in January 2017, Procore Certified: Associate from Procore Technologies in May 2016, and the Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the Purdue University Technical Assistance Program in November 2013. Todd also obtained an ARGUS Software Certified (ASC) – Enterprise certification from ARGUS Software Solutions in February 2020. Todd has an interest in complexity, as evidenced by their enrollment in the Introduction to Complexity course at the Sante Fe Institute.
