Martin Cohen is Chairman of Cohen & Steers. He has 39 years of experience. Prior to co-founding the firm in 1986 with Robert Steers, Mr. Cohen was a senior vice president and portfolio manager at National Securities and Research Corporation from 1984 to 1986, where, in 1985, he and Mr. Steers organized and managed the nation’s first real estate securities mutual fund. From 1976 to 1981, Mr. Cohen was a vice president at Citibank, serving as an analyst and portfolio manager. In 1980, he organized and managed the Citibank Real Estate Stock Fund.

Mr. Cohen earned a BS from The City College of New York and an MBA from New York University. He has served as a member of the Board of Governors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. In 2001, he was the recipient of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts Industry Achievement Award. He is based in New York.
