Tracy completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the years 1985 to 1989. Tracy then furthered their studies at Drexel University - Hahnemann Medical Campus, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical and Health Psychology from 1989 to 1996.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Tracy Neal-Walden has obtained several certifications. Tracy is a licensed psychologist, having obtained licensure from the Mississippi Board of Psychology in December 1996, the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Professionals in February 2017, and the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists in June 2018.
