Nick Frosst has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a co-founder at Cohere since 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Google as an RSWE on the Google Brain team from 2016 to 2020. Nick also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto from 2014 to 2016, assisting with introductory classes for students without prior math or computer knowledge. Before that, they served as a Researcher at the Tsotsos Computer Vision Lab at York University from 2013 to 2015, focusing on visual saliency prediction algorithms. In 2015, Nick interned at Google as a Machine Learning Intern, where they switched the team's main ML model from Boosting Trees to Neural Networks. Nick also had an internship as an SDE Intern at Amazon in 2014, working on the S3 cloud storage service. Nick's work experience also includes roles as a Bartender, Waiter, and Board Game Instructor at Snakes and Lattes, a Freelance Consultant at Lavasoft, and a CLI Developer at Alcatel-Lucent, where they focused on writing perl tools to automate code generation and integrate them with the build process.
From 2011 to 2015, Nick Frosst attended the University of Toronto, where they pursued a Bachelor's of Science degree. During this time, they double majored in Computer Science and Cognitive Science.
