Bob Charles

Bob Charles has extensive work experience in the insurance and technology industries. Bob most recently worked at Coherent as the Head of Actuarial, where they were responsible for transforming Excel models into cloud services. Prior to that, they served as a Non-Executive Director at Income, where they chaired the Risk Management Committee and was a member of the Board Executive Committee. Bob also has experience as the CEO of the Hong Kong business at CXA Group, a health insurance startup. Bob played a significant role in building the business and providing employee benefits technology and consulting to employers. Before that, Bob held various leadership positions at Towers Watson and Watson Wyatt Worldwide, including serving as the Asia Pacific Region CEO and Regional Managing Director for Employee Benefit Services. Bob was responsible for business leadership, client relationship management, and consulting in these roles. Bob began their career at R Watson & Sons, where they worked as a Partner and Consulting Actuary for over 13 years.

Bob Charles obtained an MA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford from 1984 to 1987. Prior to that, they attended South Wolds Comprehensive School in Keyworth from 1976 to 1984. Additionally, Bob has obtained various certifications, including the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma, Fellow from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and Coherent Spark Certified Business User. Bob is also a fellow of The Actuarial Society of Hong Kong.
