Chief Architect at Coherent Logix

Carl Dobbs has a diverse work experience in the field of IC business and design consulting. Carl started their career at Texas Instruments in 1982 as a Chip Designer. Carl then worked as an ASIC Design Engineer at Motorola from 1984 to 1985 before becoming a Design Manager at Motorola Semiconductor from 1985 to 1988. From 1988 to 1991, they served as the VP of Engineering at Ross Technology. Carl then joined The Silicon Group, Inc. in 1991 as the CEO, where they provided IC business and design consulting until the company was purchased by Synopsys in 2000. At Synopsys, they worked as a Principal Consultant until 2004. From 2004 to 2006, Carl served as a Principal Consultant at Fourteen Consulting, primarily working with NetEffect and Coherent Logix. Finally, since 2006, they have been working at Coherent Logix, Inc. as the Chief Architect, responsible for architecture, micro-architecture, and design specifications for all chip designs.

Carl Dobbs earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, where they studied from 1975 to 1982.
