Giuseppe Cantarella

Giuseppe Cantarella has a diverse work experience across different companies and roles. Giuseppe currently holds the position of Principal Research Development Engineer at Coherent Inc. since June 2022. Before joining Coherent Inc., they worked at II-VI Incorporated for four years as a Lead Engineer from July 2018 to June 2022.

Prior to that, Giuseppe worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Kaiam Corporation from January 2017 to June 2018. In this role, they provided support for research and development projects, focusing on optoelectronic hardware solutions for data centers. Giuseppe designed and developed test plans, analyzed experimental data, and worked with various teams.

Before their industry experience, Giuseppe completed their PhD studies as a student at the University of Strathclyde, where they focused on their research from January 2014 to January 2017. Giuseppe also gained experience as a Sponsored Student at Fraunhofer CAP during the same period.

Giuseppe'swork experience began with an internship at STMicroelectronics, where they worked as an Internship Student from February 2013 to October 2013.

Giuseppe Cantarella earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Physics - Optoelectronics from the University of Strathclyde, which they attended from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Laurea Specialistica in Fisica Elettronica at the Università di Catania from 2010 to 2013, and before that, they obtained their Laurea Triennale in Fisica from the same university from 2008 to 2011. In terms of certifications, they became a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) through the Project Management Institute in October 2021. Giuseppe also holds a Six Sigma: Yellow Belt Certification from The Institute of Six Sigma Professionals, obtained in 2017.
