Jeff Brown

Jeff Brown has extensive experience in the engineering and operations field. Jeff is currently serving as the Global VP of Sensing Engineering and Operations at Coherent Inc. Prior to this role, they worked for II-VI Incorporated, where they held the position of VP of Operations for the Optoelectronic and RF Devices BU. Before that, Jeff was the VP and General Manager of Texas Operations at Finisar Corporation, where they were responsible for building and qualifying a wafer fab to supply VCSELs for consumer applications. Jeff also worked as the Director of Process Engineering at Skyworks Solutions, Inc., and held various roles including Engineering Manager, Process Engineering Group Leader, and Senior Device Engineer at RFMD. Jeff started their career as a Device Engineer at Nitronex, where they played a pivotal role in developing Gallium Nitride HEMTs on Silicon.

Jeff Brown received their Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1995. Jeff then went on to earn another Bachelor of Science degree, this time in Physics, from NCSU in 1996. Brown continued their education and completed their Ph.D. in Physics at North Carolina State University in 2000. In 2012, they attended the Program for Management Development at UNCG for executive education.
