Tom Valen

General Manager - Automotive/Transportation at Coherix

Tom Valen has over 40 years of experience in the automotive industry. Tom began their career in 1977 as the Director of International Product Planning and Manufacturing at American Motors (AMC). In 1987, they moved to Intermet as the General Manager of Intermotive Technologies. In 1996, they became the President of Operations in the Americas at The PAC Group. In 2006, they were the Director of Product and Manufacturing Planning at Vehicle Production Group, a start-up company based in Troy, MI. From 2008-2012, they were the General Manager of Automotive/Transportation at Coherix, an Ann Arbor based high tech start-up company. Since 2012, they have been a Product and Program Consultant at Personal.

Tom Valen began their educational journey in 1962 when they attended Simpson College, studying Liberal Arts. Tom then transferred to Kettering University in 1963, where they earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree in 1968. Tom continued their studies at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, earning an MBA in 1977, with a focus on Business and International/Marketing.
