Andrew Schmid

Andrew Schmid began their work experience as a Software Engineer at Cray Research in 1989. Andrew then transitioned to a role as a Technical Director/Manager of Systems Development at Refinitiv, Thomson Reuters, Bridge, EJV from 1995 to 1999.

In the year 2000, Schmid became the Director of Fixed Income Pricing at Refinitiv, where they built and managed a team of 8 developers responsible for manufacturing, validating, and delivering fixed income pricing and analytics. Andrew also served as the primary contact for regional pricing desks around the world.

From 2012 to 2016, Schmid held the position of Global Head of Pricing, Analytics & Web Services at Refinitiv. In this role, they led a team of over 18 technologists in two countries, overseeing the entire fixed income pricing and analytics life cycle. Schmid and their team successfully manufactured, validated, and delivered pricing and analytics for over 2.5 million instruments multiple times a day.

Following this, Andrew Schmid took on the role of Senior Technical Director, Fixed Income Development at Refinitiv from 2017 to 2020. Andrew acted as a solutions architect for "Enrichment Activities" using Amazon Web Services and managed shared services comprising of 170 people across three continents. Schmid's leadership resulted in reduced client-impacting incidents and increased client-visible features and business goals attainment.

Most recently, Schmid is Senior Software Engineer at Coin Metrics. Since August 2020, they have been delivering projects across multiple development teams, leading the development of customer-facing mobile apps and community-focused indexes. Schmid also leads a team responsible for collecting exchange data, a critical aspect of the company's market data products.

Andrew Schmid attended Boston University from 1983 to 1987 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. In January 2022, they obtained a Google Play Store Listing Certificate from Google Play Academy.
