Vipul Gupta

Vipul Gupta is an accomplished researcher and engineer specializing in machine learning and distributed systems. Currently serving as a Contributor & Maintainer at UpTrain since September 2022, Vipul has played a pivotal role in developing an open-source tool designed for monitoring and refining machine learning models. Previously, as a Research Scientist at ByteDance, Vipul focused on efficient algorithms for training large ML models within the Ray ecosystem. During a tenure as a Research Engineer at Facebook, Vipul developed state-of-the-art techniques to enhance training efficiency for deep learning recommender models. Other experiences include positions at Apple, Microsoft, and various academic institutions, where Vipul engaged in significant research in AI and distributed computing. Vipul holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.Tech-M.Tech dual degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
