Sebastian Markowsky

Sebastian Markowsky is the current Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Executive Vice President at Coinsource. Sebastian has over three years of experience working in compliance for innovative businesses in the UK financial sector. Their previous positions include Head of Compliance at Torca and UK Bond Network.

At Torca, Sebastian was responsible for MiFID II implementation, successful application into the Regulatory Sandbox Cohort 5, change of control, variation of permission, SMCR readiness and application into the crypto assets AML/CTF regime. Sebastian also has experience with Crypto Compliance (DeFi, CeFi). Sebastian held Senior Management Functions SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (MLRO) at Torca. Sebastian is also a member of the International Compliance Association (MICA).

At UK Bond Network, Sebastian was responsible for linking high net worth and sophisticated individuals as well as institutional investors and wealth managers with carefully-assessed, UK business borrowers through an innovative online bond auction platform. Sebastian ensured that the Firm conducted its business in a manner in line with regulatory guidelines set by the UK financial services regulator. Sebastian also worked with Executive Directors to ensure both staff and board members were in possession of sufficiently recent and accurate information to dispose of their respective duties, whilst also looking to the future for change opportunities that can benefit the company. Sebastian controlled Functions CF10 and CF11 at UK Bond Network and is also a member of the International Compliance Association (MICA).

After Sebastian Markowsky completed their diploma in anti money laundering from the International Compliance Association / University of Manchester, they decided to further their education by enrolling in a certificate program in combating the financing of terrorism from the same school. Sebastian also took some personal development courses from the International Compliance Association.
