John Garry

Teaching Artist at CO/LAB Theater Group

John Garry is a dedicated teaching artist at CO/LAB Theater Group since January 2014, where responsibilities include devising and implementing classroom curricula that leads to ensemble-based theater performances. The organization focuses on providing individuals with developmental disabilities a free creative and social outlet through theater arts. Prior to this, from 2010 to 2019, John Garry was an actor, performing in musicals for Off-Broadway, national and international tours, and regional theaters, with notable roles in national tours such as The Book of Mormon and Spamalot. John Garry holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University (2006-2010) and a Certificate in Digital Marketing from General Assembly (2019).

CO/LAB Theater Group

CO/LAB Theater Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Creative Opportunities without Limits And Boundaries. CO/LAB offers individuals with developmental disabilities a creative and social outlet through theater arts. Through classes and workshops, we facilitate a safe and judgment-free environment, encouraging participants to collaborate together as an ensemble as well as discover their individual voices. We host programming in New York City as well as partner with many organizations in the tri-state area. CO/LAB has worked with over 300 individuals ages 5-76 through our on-site classes, off-site workshops and satellite programs.
