Tap Dance Instructor at Colburn School

Johnnie Hobbs is an accomplished tap dance instructor and adjunct professor with extensive experience teaching at prestigious institutions, including the Colburn School and AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts. As a tap dance instructor, Johnnie has focused on cultivating the practical application of tap dance while leading lectures on its cultural significance, particularly highlighting contributions from black entertainers. Johnnie has curated and hosted the Annual Tap Festival Showcase since 2019, showcasing notable jazz music and historical influences. In addition to teaching, Johnnie has served as a video game voice director for prominent titles such as "Exoprimal," "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," and "Fallout 76." With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of the Arts, Johnnie is dedicated to promoting the art of tap dance and its rich history through education and performance.
