Matthew Brown

Matthew Brown is an experienced economic regeneration professional currently serving as the Economic Regeneration Manager at Colchester City Council since November 2019, where Matthew has successfully facilitated six significant bids totaling £46.8 million in investment. Previously, Matthew held the position of Principal Project Consultant at Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd., leading a design team and developing commercial project proposals. Earlier experience includes serving as Regeneration Programme Manager at Thurrock Council, where Matthew created a strategy for government investment in deprived areas, and as Commissioning Delivery Manager at Essex County Council, where Matthew managed various energy policy developments and project implementations. Matthew’s career also includes roles in securing funding exceeding £12 million through successful applications and managing health improvement programs in residential care settings. Matthew holds a BA Hons degree in Music from Colchester Institute.
