Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory
Jiawei Xing is a Computational Postdoctoral Researcher at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in the Siepel Lab, focusing on probabilistic modeling, machine learning, single-cell omics, and cancer evolution since March 2024. Previously, Jiawei served as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Ohio State University in the Jouline Lab, specializing in protein structural evolution, protein-ligand interactions, molecular drug targets discovery, hidden Markov models, and phylogenetics from August 2019 to December 2023. Additional experience includes a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a Summer Research Intern at A*STAR, where Jiawei conducted a genome-wide screening of drug resistance genes in fungal pathogens. Jiawei was also a team member in the iGEM Competition, working on synthetic biology and mathematical modeling. Jiawei earned a PhD in Computational Microbiology from The Ohio State University and a BS in Biological Sciences from Beijing Normal University.
