Marlena Murillo

Marlena Murillo is a dedicated academic and professional in the field of civil engineering, currently serving as the Coordinator of the Extension and Community Engagement Area at the Departamento de Ingeniería Civil, Universidad de Chile, since July 2024. With a career at Universidad de Chile starting in March 2009, Marlena has taught various courses including a newly introduced course on Innovation in Engineering and Sciences, along with challenges in engineering, and workshops in structures and construction. Additional roles encompass teaching technology of steel courses at Universidad Católica del Norte and serving as a director and member of several engineering commissions, including the Colegio de Ingenieros de Chile and the Instituto Chileno del Acero. Marlena holds a Civil Engineering degree, a diploma in fire engineering, and is pursuing a Master's degree in Seismic Engineering from Universidad de Chile.
