Kate McCarthy has held various roles in the financial and sustainability sectors over the past 17 years. Kate began their career in 2003 as a Portfolio Accountant Public Funds at State Street, where they were responsible for overseeing pension plans for the State of Ohio. In 2004, they joined Pearson as a Global Sustainability Manager and Environmental Sustainability Manager. In 2014, they moved to Harvard Extension School as a Teaching Fellow for Strategies for Sustainability Management & Corporate Sustainability Strategy. From 2016 to 2020, they were the Director of Finance and Grants and later the Director of Finance at the Online Learning Consortium. Most recently, they have been the Director of Finance and Human Resources at the Coleridge Initiative since 2020.
Kate McCarthy obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business from Boston University between 1999 and 2003. Kate then went on to earn a Masters - ALM in Environmental and Sustainability Management from Harvard University between 2005 and 2010. In June 2014, they achieved the LEED AP O+M certification from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
