Marc Lucas

Marc Lucas serves as an Executive Board Member for the Data Buoy Cooperation Panel at the World Meteorological Organization, focusing on the needs of buoy data users in both industry and research. With extensive experience at CLS Group as a Project Manager and Senior Oceanographer, Marc oversees multi-million euro projects and leads the development of an operational regional current prediction system. Previous roles include postdoctoral researcher positions at Meteo France and IFM-GEOMAR, where Marc contributed to advanced modeling related to global warming impacts on the Mediterranean and North Atlantic. Marc holds a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of Southampton, complemented by an MSc in Oceanography and a BSc in Ocean Science with Navigation.
