College Achieve Public Schools (CAPS)
Peter Lyden is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in education, media, and public relations. Currently serving as a High School Social Studies Teacher at College Achieve Public Schools since August 2020, Peter has also held the position of President/CEO at pj3, LLC since January 2017, specializing in media, public relations, and corporate communications. With extensive broadcasting experience dating back to 1981, Peter has been an announcer at WBJB-FM since 1992 and produced financial talk shows focused on political and economic intersections. Previous roles include Director of Alumni Relations at Christian Brothers Academy, Manager of Communications for New Jersey’s Civil Service Commission, and various senior director positions at Comcast, where responsibilities included internal communications and government relations. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
College Achieve Public Schools (CAPS)
College Achieve Public Schools (CAPS) is a K-12 network of public charter schools operating in three regions in New Jersey: CAPS Central (Plainfield and North Plainfield); CAPS Paterson (City of Paterson); and CAPS Asbury (Asbury Park and Neptune Township). CAPS operates nine charter schools in all in three regions serving nearly 3,500 students. CAPS is one of the highest performing charter networks in the state of New Jersey - and has closed the achievement gap in several grades, and outperformed the state of NJ's student average in several more grades in ELA on the NJSLA. CAPS Central High School also outperformed the state of New Jersey on the Advanced Placement tests. Students in our first two graduating classes have been admitted to Harvard, Princeton, NYU, Rutgers, Howard, Kean, Seton Hall, Montclair, Rowan, Stockton. and Centenary University.
