Ian Marlier

Ian Marlier has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Ian has worked as a CTO (Fractional) at the College Guidance Network and as a Co-Founder and CTO at Vert. Ian has also been self-employed since 2016, working as a freelance Software Engineer, Product Manager, and Strategist. Ian has taken on various projects, including software engineering for a startup and serving as a technical advisor and executive coach for a content startup called Newscoop.

From 2020 to 2022, Ian worked at Nexamp as the Vice President of Research and Innovation. In this role, they extended Nexamp's existing business lines to build a clean, simple, and accessible future of energy. Nexamp is a company that builds and operates renewable energy projects in the United States.

Prior to Nexamp, Ian worked at CollegeVine as the Director of Product Engineering and later as a Product Manager/Consultant. Ian was responsible for leading product engineering initiatives and providing strategic guidance.

Ian has also held positions at HubSpot as the Director of Reliability, where they led a team of engineers focused on software performance and availability, and at Brightcove as the Manager of Platform Operations, where they managed a team of Systems Engineers and improved system infrastructure.

Ian began their career at Going, Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they worked until 2009.
