Jon Carson

Jon Carson is the founder and CEO of the College Guidance Network. Jon has extensive experience in the field of college guidance and advising, having served as the CEO of CollegeVine from January 2016 to June 2019. During their time at CollegeVine, Jon helped the company grow from a small startup to one of the fastest-growing college advising services in the country. Under Jon's leadership, CollegeVine scaled its bookings from $300,000 to a run rate of $10 million, with over 600 advisors in the field. Jon also built a strong brand for CollegeVine through partnerships with NPR, SEO, and media relations, which helped the company's website reach 1 million visits per month during peak season. In addition, Jon raised $30 million from investors such as University Ventures, Fidelity, and Chinese family offices. Jon also secured large-scale strategic partnerships with US News College Rankings, Fidelity, and NPR. Finally, Jon grew gross margins from 30% to 50%, trending towards 60%. Jon also built and piloted a college advising employer benefit program. Jon secured partnerships with two of the largest F500 HR distribution providers, reaching 45,000 employers. Jon was terminated from CollegeVine in June 2019. Prior to their work at CollegeVine, Jon served as a student mentor at Harvard Innovation Lab.

Jon Carson has a Master of Public and Private Management from Yale School of Management and a B.S. in Marketing, Finance from Babson College.
