Michael Hurlbut is an experienced legislative and political action professional, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Legislation and Political Action at the College of American Pathologists (CAP) since April 2018, focusing on FDA policies, Artificial Intelligence, physician networks, and forensics. Prior to this role, Michael held the position of Senior Congressional Affairs Specialist at the American Physical Therapy Association for nearly a decade, where responsibilities included representing the association on Capitol Hill and collaborating on lobbying events. Michael's earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Legislative Assistant to Rep. Louise Slaughter and as a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Robert E. Andrews, engaging with various committees and advocacy groups on a broad range of issues. Michael earned an M.A. in Political Management from The George Washington University and a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
