Syed K. J. has a wealth of experience in the fields of digital communications, media policy and law, and social media for nonprofits. Syed K. began their career in 2008 as a Fellow for the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program, where they were awarded a grant to study International Affairs at a graduate level in the US. In 2009, they worked as a Co-Producer for the video documentary Becoming a Buddha, handling the India segment. Syed K. then went on to work as a Project Manager for the Centre of Culture, Media and Governance in 2010, where they managed a project to develop Media Policy and Law as an academic discipline. In the same year, they also worked as an Executive Producer for the CSR Documentary Nurturing Hope. From 2011 to 2014, they held various roles at EducationUSA, United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF). These included Digital Communications Manager and Technology & Multimedia Manager for EducationUSA Advising Services. Syed K. then went on to work as a Communication Consultant for Linden Educational Services in 2014. In 2015, they worked as a Manager for the Webinar Program at Social Media for Nonprofits, and also as the Partnership Director & Founder at Branta. In 2020, they became the Partnership Director & Co-Founder at Collegey.com, and in 2022, they began working as a Sales Development Intern at Talend.

Syed K. J. holds an MA in International Affairs from Ohio University, where they were a Ford Fellow, obtained in 2010. In 2022, they received a SaaS Sales Fellowship from SV Academy, Cohort 63, with a field of study in Tech Sales. Syed also holds an MA in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia's Mass Communication Research Center, obtained in 2005. Additionally, Syed has obtained three certifications: Sales Certified - Software as a Service from SV Academy in February 2022, EducationUSA Training Institute/ Trained Adviser for US Higher Education Advising from the U.S. Department of State in November 2010, and High School Exchange Certification from the U.S. Department of State in February 2022.
