Piers Bearne has over 15 years of experience in the media, events, and business information industries. In 2006, they founded Collingwood Advisory Ltd, a company that provides Scaleup and M&A advice to Founders/CEOs of media, events and business information companies. From 2009 to 2016, they were Chairman of GFC Media Group, which works to improve connectivity between companies looking to raise capital and investors seeking to deploy it. In 2009, they also became Chairman of Global Transport Forum, which owns and operates the global SmartRail World portal, SmartRail tradeshows and congresses. In 2016, they joined the Advisory Board of RCR Wireless News and in 2017 they became Chairman of Engerati - The Smart Energy Network. In 2018, they became Chairman of the Board of The Retail Summit. Additionally, they have been a part of the Advisory Board of The Literary Consultancy since 2014, and a Co-Host of Media Entrepreneur Meetup since 2019. Piers is also an author, having written 'The Bitter Trade' and 'Scatterwood'.
Piers Bearne received a European Baccalaureate from the European School, Luxembourg in 1990. Piers then went on to earn a BA in Politics from the University of York between 1991 and 1994.
