Barry Goodwin

Chair at COLLINGWOOD GENERAL AND MARINE HOSPITAL

Relatively new to the Collingwood area, Barry moved to the area in 2019 to enjoy early retirement. Most recently, he was a professor at the University of Toronto's Munk School, teaching in the master's of public policy program. Barry had a long career with both the provincial and federal governments. He oversaw large government agencies such as the LCBO and the OLG, as well as various regulatory agencies involved with public safety and consumer protection.

Barry attended U of T and York's Schulich School of Business and has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors program. His professional background includes the development of significant amounts of legislation, and work in economic development, trade, labor market policy, and infrastructure development.

Barry has extensive board experience - as a board member, overseeing boards on behalf of the government, and as a senior executive reporting to aboard. Barry looks forward to serving the south Georgian Bay community, as part of CGMH's board and enjoying the relaxing and active lifestyle that the area offers.
