Burak Ay

Burak Ay is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in structural analysis and stress engineering within the aerospace industry. Currently serving as a Principal Stress Engineer at Collins Aerospace since April 2025, Burak previously held the position of Principal Mechanical Engineer at Orbex, leading structural analysis for launch vehicles. Burak's career at Turkish Aerospace includes roles as Integrated Product Team Lead for the TF-X program, overseeing airframe design, and Structural Analysis Chief Engineer for a fifth-generation fighter aircraft project in collaboration with BAE Systems. Earlier positions include Lead Stress Engineer at Freedom Aircraft Ventures LLC, where Burak was instrumental in developing a lightweight composite trainer, and Lead Stress Engineer for Airframe Structures at Hürkuş Aircraft, focusing on certification processes. Burak's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University.
