David Andrew Lawrence

David Andrew Lawrence has a strong background in human resources, with experience in various leadership roles. David Andrew began their career at Eckerd Drugs as an HR Operations Representative and District Training Coordinator. In 1999, they joined the Chattanooga Housing Authority as the Director of Human Resources, overseeing HR functions for 140 employees across multiple locations. During their tenure, they handled employee relations, recruitment, compensation, training, and strategic planning. In 2014, Lawrence joined Colonial Chemical, Inc. as the Director of Human Resources, where they were responsible for leading and developing the HR department to ensure legal compliance and align with the organization's talent strategy. David Andrew supervised staff, managed daily workflow, and played a key role in recruitment and training.

David Andrew Lawrence holds a Master's Degree in I/O (Industrial and Organizational) Human Resources, which they obtained from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. David Andrew completed their Master's Degree program from 1992 to 1995.

Prior to their Master's Degree, David Andrew Lawrence earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. David Andrew attended this institution from 1987 to 1991.

In addition to their academic qualifications, David Andrew Lawrence has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification from HRCI, obtained in September 2022; the People Manager Qualification (PMQ) from SHRM, obtained in June 2021; the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional certification from SHRM, obtained in February 2015; the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI), obtained in December 2000; the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM, obtained in February 2015; and the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from HRCI, obtained in July 2019.
