Carl Childs has extensive experience in the field of research, education, and library management. Carl worked at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, starting as the Director of Archives and Records in 2014 and later became the Director of the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Library. In 2015, they were promoted to Deputy Director of the library before assuming the role of Executive Director of Research and Education in December 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Local Records Services at the Library of Virginia from 1993 to 2013.
