Catherine A. Whittenburg

Catherine Whittenburg has extensive experience in communications and journalism, currently serving as Vice President of Communications and Corporate Affairs at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation since May 2013. In this role, Catherine directs core communications planning and previously expanded responsibilities to oversee "Trend & Tradition," a quarterly magazine focused on history and culture. Catherine has also held positions such as Executive Director of Corporate Communications and Publications, where notable media placements included features in major outlets like the New York Times and NBC's TODAY show. Prior experience includes writing as a self-employed magazine writer, serving as a state capitol reporter for the Tampa Tribune and The Gazette of Politics and Business, and reporting on health issues at the Star-Banner. Educational credentials include a BA in English from William & Mary, an MA in English from Wake Forest University, and an MJ in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
