Mawadda Alnaeeli has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mawadda is currently the Director of Clinical Laboratories at Color, a position they have held since November 2021. Before joining Color, they worked at Illumina from 2016 to 2021, where they held various roles, including NY Laboratory Director of NIPT and Associate Director of Development & Engineering - Clinical Genomics. Prior to Illumina, they served as the Assistant Director of the Infectious Diseases Laboratory and Respiratory Biorepository Program at the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine from 2014 to 2016. Mawadda also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Louisville from 2013 to 2016, and as an Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Ohio University from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, they served as a Visiting Scientist/Immunology Consultant/Subject Matter Expert at the Center for Predictive Medicine for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases from 2012 to 2014. Mawadda started their career as a Research Assistant at Western University from 2001 to 2003.
Mawadda Alnaeeli earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with Distinction in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Rochester from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Microbiology and Immunology from Western University from 2000 to 2003. In addition to their degrees, they also hold several certifications including ASCP(MB) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Certificate of Qualification in Genetic Testing and Molecular from the New York State Department of Health, High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) from the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB), and Technical Supervisor in both Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics from the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB).
