Shilpa Thakar

Shilpa Thakar has a diverse work experience that spans several industries and roles. Shilpa is currently working at Color as the Director of Public Sector Strategy and Growth, where they have been since November 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Manager of Strategy and Operations at Color from September 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining Color, Shilpa worked at Health Net, starting in March 2020 and ending in September 2021. During their time at Health Net, they held the position of Strategy and Planning Manager and Chief of Staff to the Chief Medical Officer. In this role, they led special projects focused on improving health outcomes and managing the cost of care for the California market.

Prior to their role at Health Net, Shilpa worked as a University of California (UC)/Commercial Accounts ACO Clinical Program Manager from January 2017 to March 2020. In this role, they developed strategic partnerships and managed a portfolio of clinical initiatives to improve access to care, quality of care delivery, and reduce healthcare costs.

Shilpa also has experience working at Blue Shield of California as a Regional Medical Management - HMO/Delegated Network Program Manager from June 2015 to December 2016. Shilpa started their career at Partners for Better Health as a Randall Lewis Health Policy Fellow from September 2014 to June 2015.

Additionally, Shilpa has held positions at Advanced Medical Reviews as a Medical Review Coordinator from September 2011 to September 2014, at the Center For Advising and Academic Success, Whittier College as a Cell and Molecular Biology Supplemental Instructor from September 2009 to May 2011, and at L'Institut Alfred Fournier as a Clinical Research Assistant/Intern from January 2009 to June 2009.

Shilpa Thakar completed their Bachelor of Arts degree at Whittier College from 2007 to 2011, majoring in French Language and Literature as well as Biology. Shilpa then pursued further studies at Claremont Graduate University from 2013 to 2015, earning a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree with a focus on Leadership and Management. Simultaneously, during the same period, they also obtained an MBA degree specializing in Strategy from the Drucker School of Management.
