Lisa Thompson is a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in mental health and program management within the homeless community. Currently serving as the Chief Program Officer and previously as the Director of Housing First and Assertive Community Treatment at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless since June 2014, Lisa has also held the role of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from February 2013 to June 2014. Earlier in their career, Lisa worked as a Mental Health Nurse Manager and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado. Lisa's educational background includes a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Master's Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, alongside dual Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and English Literature from the University of Arizona.

The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for families and individuals experiencing or at-risk of homelessness throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves. Since its founding more than 30 years ago, the organization has earned state and national recognition for its integrated healthcare, housing, and service programs. The Coalition’s comprehensive approach addresses the causes of homelessness, as well as the consequences, offering critical assistance to over 18,000 individuals and families each year. Positions at the Coalition span more than 50 programs and offer a variety of employment opportunities in a trauma-informed environment.
